The Visitable Housing Design Act and Incentive Program (Title 29, Chap. 6 Sub Chap. II)

The legislation gives property tax incentives to Virgin Islanders who volunteer to make their newly constructed or renovated home accessible through permitting regulations established by the Dept. of Planning and Natural Resources. The Act provides guidelines for homeowners to build new or retrofit existing homes for access The Certificate of Visitability will enable the homeowner to receive a 20 percent tax deduction on their property taxes for ten years.
